I'm a boater - operating one for 38 of my 48 years on earth. My Dad died in a boating accident when I was just shy of 3 years old. Before I could take the boat out on my own, my Mother and Brother BOTH put me thru stringent courses on boating safety. At 14, I took a state-approved course on boating safety.
