3. Perhaps you are right, but these pilots would be flying practice missions with or without public

displays. I understand the optics of it, and perhaps we should not celebrate military displays of any kind. These shows are a lot about recruiting. A lot of young men and women would like to be Top Gun.

Some years ago, I was in the flight path of jets practicing from a base about 90 miles from here. Low overhead, high speed passes by pairs of fighters were common at the time. They would be overhead before the sound caught up with them, I never ceased being startled by them. They have since, to my relief, moved off to some other location and peace has returned to the valley.
