According to MSNBC reporter Alex Seitz-Wald, a speaker at Bernie Sanders’s Washington Square Park rally referenced “corporate Democratic whores.” The reaction was immediate. Bernie should immediately denounce this kind of inflammatory language. Especially when his Democratic rival is a woman.

UPDATE: BNR has reviewed the speech delivered by Paul Song. Song was clearly speaking about Hillary Clinton before he spoke these words:

“Medicare for all will never happen if we continue to elect corporate democratic whores who are beholden to big pharma.”

Full context:

Now Secretary Clinton has said that Medicare for all will never happen. [boos] Well, I agree with Secretary Clinton that Medicare for all will never happen if we have a president who never aspires for something greater than the status quo. [cheers] Medicare for all will never happen if we continue to elect corporate Democratic whores [cheers] who are beholden to big pharma and the private insurance industry instead of us.”

The inference is hard to avoid.

UPDATE 2: Bernie thanked (yes, thanked) the speakers who introduced him for their “great introductions” — including Dr. Song, who referenced “corporate Democratic whores” and Hillary Clinton in the same context.
