5. How would a "second Chornobyl" compare to the destruction of the planetary atmosphere?

Sunday

Would it kill as many people as die each year from making hydrogen from coal in China in normal operations, so fossil fuel sales people can rebrand coal as "green hydrogen?"

In the antinuke cults, do any members know who funded Putin's war on Ukraine? Could it have been German antinukes who bought coal, gas and oil from Putin? Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, after all works for Putin.

Is there any concern among the distractable and obviously poorly educated antinukes about the number of Ukrainians killed by dangerous weapons of mass destruction powered by fossil fuels?

None. You don't say?

Franklin Roosevelt, my favorite Democratic President, remarked famously that "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

The fear of nuclear power kills people on a vast scale, far more than have ever died from failed and/or operable nuclear reactors:

On the scale of the destruction of the planetary atmosphere, the deaths of close to 300 million people from air pollution in the 40 years since the Chornobyl reactor blew up, the failure of the reactor is a trivial event. Since Chornobyl this is the equivalent of wiping out a nation the size of the Germany, the nation that funded Putin's war, 3 times.

Over 18,000 Ukrainians have been killed by fossil fuel powered weapons of mass destruction, funded by German antinukes.

Give a shit?

No?

Why am I not surprised?

How many Ukrainians died from radiation at exposure at Chernobyl again?

Of course, in the antinuke sets, including people promoting fossil fuels by trying to rebrand them as "hydrogen," no one gives a shit how many Ukrainians are killed by fossil fuel powered weapons. If on the other hand, there is fear of a leak of radiation, as opposed to an actual leak all their underwear gets pulled up in Wedgies with concern.

I personally am filled with disgust with this selective attention and shallow ignorance.

Nuclear energy need not be risk free, to be safer than everything else. It only needs to be safer than everything else.

I covered this topic some years ago here: Some comments on the war situation with Chernobyl as well as the operable nuclear plants in Ukraine.

Have a pleasant Sunday, antinukes.
