were distracted by the joys of AI slop and cheating at homework or office work, pretending to be able to do things they couldn't really do.

Between Trump and generative AI, this period is likely to be viewed as an era of stupidity and pretense. Assuming we survive the damage Trump and the AI bros are doing.

It's crucial that Democrats oppose the data centers and ALL the harm done by genAI. If we go along with the RW AI bro propaganda about how wonderful and important generative AI is, we've agreed with the industry's main argument (which they've also used to try to justify their theft of the world's intellectual property).
