Kent Police has said Operation Stack is expected to last for the rest of the day. Bad news for drivers on the M20.

Henry Samuel reports:

Police have already hauled 350 migrants on Wednesday morning out of lorries entering the Channel tunnel - figures they say are reaching record proportions.

"We are pulling out practically two every truck," said Gilles Debove, of the police union Unité SGP-Police FO.

"Overnight we found around 100 or so by the time the trucks had been through the scanner, heartbeat and CO2 checks, but now they have completely invaded the site," he told the Telegraph.

Mr Debove said he expected the figures to "explode" by the end of the day given the numbers of migrants trying to stow away in lorries and the 12-miles tailback in the run-up to the Eurotunnel entrance, meaning trucks are at a standstill or moving very slowly.
