to party members in good standing, which was virtually ever German citizen. I do believe there were harsher penalties for Jews and those who supplied them with weaponry.
IMO that despite the anti-Semitic history of all of Europe, the pogroms etc. the Jewish people, (and gypsies, Catholics, homosexuals...)
were unable to comprehend the paradigm of evil the Nazis had created. Even armed I believe many would not have fought until it was too late. The attitude being 'we have lived through similar before, we will live through this'.
