I used to keep them on the phone as long as possible by asking them to repeat, explain, clarify, repeat, etc. Sometimes lasting half-hour. I was on my computer while dealing with the phone call, so I wasn't wasting my time, just theirs. While they were on the phone with me, they weren't able to call anyone else. After awhile, I got tired of it and figured it might be risky for me after all. So I quit. But darn, they really tried their hardest to convince me. They had hope that I would fall for it. It was fun for me when I could pinpoint the exact moment it dawned on them that I was just messing with them! I justify my meaness by telling myself that it will help them see what a bad job they have and how they should quit and get a real job.
