Obviously, the Pope, as a highly visible Catholic figure, can influence what expectations that all people have of priests and clerics. I would argue that the Dalai Lama has influence how many Americans feel about Christian leaders (not to their benefit). It will be interesting to see how those in the so-called Evangelical and Prosperity Gospel movements react to the relative humility of Frances.
