Nobody is going to give that guy who can't afford shoes or a bicycle a Tesla Powerwall. But maybe everyone can have safe shelter, clean water, and reliable electricity.


Energy, I think, is a basic human right, or should be. There will never be enough solar cells, wind turbines, and batteries (or hydrogen electrolysis units) or land for this stuff to make that happen.

I have heard over the years from bourgeois "solar will save us" types that China is terrible because they release so much carbon dioxide. This argument assumes that the Chinese should have agreed to remain impoverished so that Americans could declare themselves "green."

Poverty is involved in much of the cause of this awful situation in which we find ourselves.
