Very good advice. I was a woman who said I didn't need anything but custody. Struggled for a few years before my ex was killed and I started getting child support through social security survivor benefits. If my ex hadn't died, I probably wouldn't have gotten any money from him at all. Make sure that in saving yourself you remember that saving yourself is a life-long endeavor.
