(43,049 posts)that other guy. But Bernie was the real deal, and justified all that hope that Nader and Kucinich brewed.
Well, that was then. These days, he hasn't changed much, but the public has, as has the country. This isn't a game any more-- it's not just between two white guys 10 degrees off center from each other.
We have already seen that a woman can win-- by 3 million votes. And that was before we knew how big an asshole Trump would be, so that shouldn't even be a question. We've got a bunch of damn good women running, so I can see the nation asking why not give one of them a shot.
Biden is a known quantity. Beyond any faults he may have, he is pretty much guaranteed to do his best to bring us back to stability and respect around the world. It's natural for him to be in the lead.
Bernie is also a known quantity, and while the rest of the mob would involve a bit of faith that they could do the job, we know what kind of a job he would do, and it's not looking all that good. He's got that storage of piss and vinegar from all those years of sniping from the sidelines, but he's slowly but surely trending downwards as people find other, more substantial, choices. Bernie has simply not kept up with the times.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
