Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: Bernie rescinds Cenk Uygur endorsement after backlash [View all]Wawannabe
(5,657 posts)12. I'm sorry but your always is wrong.
From the op: The California arm of his campaign was warned about Uygur's past comments and urged the national campaign to stay out of the race, sources told POLITICO.
But Sanders endorsed Uygur regardless. His intervention created turmoil on the ground in Californias 25th Congressional district, a seat that Democrats flipped in 2018 but is now vacant after Democrat Katie Hill resigned amid allegations of sexual impropriety.
***************
Bernie was warned. Did it any way. Only retracted after groundswell of distaste.
He has done the right thing and the only thing that he could in the face of pressure now - but most certainly not always!
And in the case of Cenk should never have given the endorsement.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

The right thing would have been to take the CA arm of the campaign's advice...

This goes into the same file as Darius Khalil Gordon and Matt Orfalea, two other one-day wonders.

If you're going to plagerize, then plagerizing Bernie makes the most sense.

To edit: I was wrong. The poster was talking about Biden dropping out of his first POTUS race...

No, not compelling. But 'I know you are but what am I?' always makes me chuckle a little;)
