to give her the benefit of the doubt and accept that certain things happened, while at the same time it seems that she completely misinterpreted why Biden would have put his hands on her shoulders and kissed the top of her head.

I'm not entirely sure why she misinterpreted it. Maybe she doesn't want to admit that being visibly nervous, as she apparently was from her own description of the incident, would have made a more experienced politician want to reassure her.

I do think part of her negative reaction to Biden standing that close to her was that she was self-conscious about not having washed her hair that day. The fact that she mentions it at all means that it wasn't a triviial detail to her. She could have been made much more self-conscious by wondering if he noticed, and that could trigger irrational embarrassment and anger/resentment.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
