... every one of her Harry Potter books (I am a now card-carrying straight curmudgeon in his late 70s) but cannot, and will not, forgive Ms Rowling's irrational condemnation of trans people. Apart from being malicious, it is just fucking stupid, and belies her unwillingness to research the subject.
I've touched on this issue in the past, but I'll warm it up and serve it on toast once more. Please attend, Joanne.
EVERY human being, indeed, every mammal, is female at conception, and for several weeks thereafter, when the the "Y" chromosome will manifest itself, if it's going to. All of these transitions occur on an infinitely variable timeline, and in ways that affect the embryo both physically, and, as development progresses, mentally. Those who pay attention to science instead of perverse and malicious online diatribes, know that people are BORN gay every minute of every day. Fuckin' DEAL with it. It also means that, within those ever-shifting parameters, people are born irrevocably certain in their minds that they are IN THE WRONG BODY. That they are female, not male, or vice versa. And it's not your place, Ms Rowling, to deny them their right to be true to themselves and to live their lives as they see fit.
So, with all due respect, shut the fuck up.
