14. The NY Times confirms rumors of added Navy ships
A front-page piece in the NY Times states the US and Britain will probably send extra ships and planes to the Persian Gulf early in the new year, confirming earlier rumors it is trying to send signals to Iran, defend oil lanes and be prepared to support any UN sanctions imposed.
