My dad was a news freak too and my 2 sisters a 3 brothers were all spoon fed politics and news daily. He insisted that we pay attention and we were always encouraged to ask questions and read newspapers. I was soooo close to my dad!! When he died his nursing home room was full of newspapers, news magazines, his computer with tons of icons related to world news and just oodles of information on the world. He could hold an intelligent conversation on any subject you could mention regarding politics and situations as they happened. My youngest brother and I are the only ones who went liberal with dad and the others went repug with mom. I miss him so much it kills me sometimes to not be able to pick up the phone and talk to him. Thanks for triggering the memories. Dad was a vet and he would have hated chimpy with his whole heart, just like he hated chimpy senior.
