It doesn't really fit into any of the current schedules, certainly not Schedule I along with Meth and the like. IMO they should create a new schedule for drugs that are medically beneficial AND non-toxic. Cannabis may be the only drug listed, but at least it would finally fit the definition. It wouldn't even have to be officially legalized, just rescheduled.

I also wondered who schedules the drugs and apparently scheduling is the sole discretion of the DEA. That's obviously a major problem.
