51. Ignorance is bliss to the freeps

I don't even know what those fools stand for anymore. If it's big republican government, they should just say so. Bush could throw all of his base into an Iraqi prison in a big naked pile, and they would come running back to meekly ask their master for some more.

Or, the other theory is that Bush has taken on an aura of the divine to them. To the GOP sheep, voicing disagreement with Bush is akin to blaspheming God herself.

What is exhausting about the whole mess is that the GOP is so efficient at the talking point. I don't want to raise Hillary's vast right wing conspiracy accusation again, but this latest round of ads and tv appearances by the GOP (with the Kerry as 'troubling' theme) does seem to be extremely coordinated amongst the Bush campaign, the GOP, the right wing talk show hosts, and the chorus of GOP apologists. Goebbels understood the effectiveness of the big lie. The Bush administration and the GOP are perfecting the use of it.

And Bush's supporters go along with it. Never once considering what kind of world they are leaving to their children. They simply don't care. Other than a shrill hatred for people and things different from themselves, what else drives the GOP base?
