6. This is so sad and this young girl was failed in so many ways.
One trouble is that so much of her self worth and value was placed outside of herself without having parents and a family unit that would really nurture her and protect her and to help her grow. I have to say to all parents out there that the things your child wants the most from you are your unconditional love and your time and not the latest game system or the best cell phone. Time is irretrievable and unforgiving and once it is gone, it is gone. Don't give your kids the time and love they need while they are still with you and after they leave you will have the rest of your life to regret your mistakes which could have been avoided.

In taking the picture of herself this girl did mess up, she made a mistake, but it was not a horrendous mistake. She should have had a consequence that matched her bad choice, such as losing her cell phone for a reasonable time or being grounded for a reasonable time, but being done with her family to love her and nurture her and help her through her bad choice and to learn from it. Her foundation should not have been her friends and outsiders, but her parents should have instilled in her that even if she was imperfect and made mistakes, as does everyone, she is still loved and of great worth. To quote "Seabiscuit": You don't throw a whole life away just because it is a little banged up. And I remember what Ann Landers said about suicide, that it is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

This was a tragedy that tragically will happen again.
