34. Scott Ritter on MS/NBC
I find it interesting that MS/NBC's Tucker Carlson should attempt to brand Scott Ritter with giving aid and comfort to the enemy, purportedly due to Ritter's publishing his contentions of CIA undercover involvement in Iran on Aljazeera's website. Ritter, it should be remembered, was one of the few pundits who got it all right about the absence of WMDs in Iraq during the run-up to the Iraq War. He was branded as a traitor then too. In fact, Ritter served this country's interests honorably as a weapons inspector prior to the Iraq War and as a Marine officer before that. He's hated by the right wingers because he has the courage of his convictions and because he has the disturbing propensity for being correct.

MS/NBC apparently prefers the biased opinions of the likes of Jim Woolsey and David Kay, both of whom were featured on the DSM piece yesterday on Hardball. Woolsey and Kay, it will be recalled, got the WMD issue totally wrong and served as Bush Administration shills for getting us into Iraq. I've never seen any media interview confronting them with their prior erroneous statements.

Sadly, there is no requirement for either truth or accountability on TV cable media. And history is totally forgotten. Apparently, once a "pundit", always a "pundit" -- regardless of whether the "pudint" gets important facts right or gets them wrong.
