17. Bored of the Rings! I loved it
It's got to be long out of print -- so glad other people remember it -- have my copy around here somewhere...

Anyway, it made me laugh -- good old Legolamb, I think they described him as quite light in the loafers -- not in the least PC but very funny after the great solemnity of 3 volumes of LOTR.

I love the Trilogy and read it to my son when he was in 3rd grade as a motivator for him to learn to love reading on his own. Yeah, I read the entire thing aloud, and we both loved it.

It was a long, long wait for LOTR to make it to be big screen, and it was worth the wait.

Considering what we were (and still are) dealing with in the world today, I think a lot of us drew inspiration and solace from the movie when it came. JRR Tolkien lived through terrible times himself and knew whereof he spoke.

My favorite bit from Fellowship was the exchange between Frodo and Gandalf deep in the Mines of Moria.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
FRODO: I wish the Ring had never come to me...I wish none of this had ever happened.
GANDALF: So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.
