I think you need to go way back and think about how people are attracted to the opposite sex. They say that cave men picked out women who would make the best looking, sturdiest, most able to survive babies. The women would make themselves be noticed by the best looking, best hunter or bravest of the bunch. It's all in human nature. The survival of the fittest (or insert best looking and with a face that is symmetrical.)
