One reason to look at the stock price? It's called "following the money". When you see Diebold's stock soaring, and a SAIC 'independent study' is due out soon, it's an indicator that something is going down.

Either the report will be "Diebold's clean, they rock" - and I don't see how SAIC would find them otherwise, as it has vested interests in assuring Diebold has a clean record - or the report reveals flaws (even if they reveal only a fraction), the stock crashes, but the insiders who sell right before the report is released make a mint.

Then we see who made money off the deal, if that happens, and expose their ties to the overall unauditable voting scheme. If the former scenario happens, as I suspect it will, then this is likely moot. But it's good to be vigilant. :)
