b. if the economy sucks, we win.
c. if the economy is about where it is right now, and we're mostly out of Iraq - and we run a nuancer again - they "win" again.

We're all talking tough now. But think back to early this year. Who then would have been riding the Kerry horse because of his firebreathing attack-dog style? NADA. After the regulars stomped Dean and Kucinich, we meekly accepted our dilemma & rationalized for the machine pick.
