I cannot believe what gets spread around as fact. Alot of these things are good advice for newbies, it's the mind games, not the reality.

My daughter's boyfriend is a gourmet cook and he cooks with wine in his food all the time. It's FOOD for chrissake. When you've been sober for a very long time, sanity returns and you know the fucking difference!

Now, keeping wine around the house on the pretense 'it's for cooking' might be a bit more dangerous. But eventually, every alcoholic who is truly in recovery ought to be able to have a piece of wine-based marinated chicken without thinking they're going to relapse. In fact, any drunk who can't after 10 years, might want to take another look at their program.
