A Video Clip Called: Gays Should Apologize [View All]

It's my 1000th post. Unfortunately, I'm going to use it to make people aware of a popular video clip circulating on the internet. It is a MSNBC video clip that someone titled Gays Should Apologize. In this clip, the President of the Catholic League berates a gay man and says that gays must apologize to the world for causing AIDS.

Curiously, the banner under the man's head reads ANTI-RELIGIOUS BIAS. I think this is significant considering that the attack is clearly on gay men. This underscores a point that many of us have been making: the very existence of outspoken gay people fighting for their rights is considered anti-religious bias.

There is no doubt in my mind that this is Rove engineered. What can we do about it? I think that we need progressive Catholics and Protestants to act as caring moderators between GLBT people and Christians (Catholics specifically, because I think this is where they want to wedge). Next up, I've already heard wind that it's a Rove goal to get religious blacks on board with republicans using gays as a wedge.

I think now is the time to have real, honest dialogue. Much of it is going to be painful. To non-gay DUers, you must understand that we are the wedge, but you are the target as much as we are.
