23. My background on this subject:
I had to live in a dingy Holiday Inn Express in Baytown, Texas (the ass end of Houston) for eleven months on a job.

You may ask, "why didn't he get a nicer place to stay?" The answer to that is, I was only supposed to be there for a few weeks and the job kept getting stretched out until before I knew it almost a year had passed.

So anyway, Baytown, Texas is the absolute armpit of America. Disgusting, ignorant, inbred people, a thick visible stew that we were supposed to believe was breathable air, and an intense summer heat that stifled your lungs.

And you want to know what the highlight of my stay in Texas was? Working with so many Mexicans. In spite of the stereotypes, I've never worked with a crew so eager to learn and go the extra mile.

I fucking hate Texas, though. Like I said, people there seem prouder of being a Texan (still not sure why) than they are of being American. I can say with certainty that there are more Texas state flags flying there than American flags, and that is sad.
