there have always been men who sold their bodies for sex...even if not as many as there were women who did it.

Granted, I personally am uncomfortable with calling anyone, especially a woman, a whore because it has often been used as a means of putting women in their place...but I understand why the exception was made for the more gender neutral "media whore".
