that homeless person "nasty, bad and lazy" and tells the child "walk fast and don't look" - you're apt to get a right winger one day

But when the parents acknowledging the human being in front of them speaks a friendly "Hello" and even dips into the pocket for what they can give - and later talks to the child about how we should treat people...then you're apt to get a Liberal one day


If you install fear and loathing at a young age, a child will carry that fear and loathing into adulthood and it will color every perception and belief they have...unless something happens to break the cycle.


The ignorance that you see among many is actually learned - and that's what makes it so hard to overcome - they learn to be ignorant.
