GoddessofGuinness, please see my post #45 in this DU thread, because America's Second Harvest is by its own admission(1) very heavily affiliated with "faith-based" (religious) organizations! And I believe the truth should be told.

In addition, many Americans who want to uphold the U.S. constitution's Separation of Church and State believe, legally, that George Walker Bush's FEMA should not proselytize "faith-based" (religious) organizations on taxpayer funded websites such as FEMA!

Your question was a good one, indeed.

(1) "Q: What Kinds of Organizations Operate A2H (America's Second Harvest) Emergency Food Programs?

A: 76% of pantries, 71% of kitchens, and 43% of shelters are run by faith-based agencies affiliated with churches, mosques, synagogues, and other religious organizations (Table 10.6.1)."
