Sorry, I had to get your attention. Seeing these right-wing, neocon, racist stories about what people are buying with those debit cards just pisses me off. When you get a gift, whether it's from a friend, a family member, and yes even the government, it should be without strings. I have no right to judge these people's purchases and neither does anyone else. If they decided a handbag helped them in their time of need then so be it, we have no comprehension of their pain and loss right now.

Did these same people filing these reports worry about how the Gub'ment cheese Reagan had to give out was being used? I can see the headline now, "Outrage over the use of Government Cheese, 2 slices per sandwich?". Face it, these stories are nothing more than a cover for a nation's racist tendencies, a nation where half of it's people don't really care if the poor people of New Orleans ever see a roof over their heads again.

This "outrage" over purchases is just another attempt by this new conservative media to put the face of evil on anyone's face EXCEPT George Bush. When farmers receive aid did a nation go count seed? Did the nation make sure farmers weren't buying "PlayPig" magazine subscriptions? When the airlines were rescued did we say anything about the multi-million dollar salaries the CEO's were making?

Face it so-called liberal media, this reporting, like the sniper and looting stories is just a veil for racially motivated reporting.
