in Galveston, local officials were using school buses to evacuate people.

We're going to have to come up with a good counterpoint to the freepers on that one.

Of course, right now, I am so worried about another major storm striking the gulf coast so soon after Katrina that it is hard to think of such things.

I am also worried that these powerful storms are a trend, and that this season isn't an anomoly. If it is a trend, it could help turn the southeast (if not all of the USA) into a third world country.
