that long, from Vietnam to Prosecutor to Lieut. Gov. to Senator.

Kerry took the opportunity to help end Vietnam, investigate and expose IranContra, BCCI, CIA drugrunning, illegal wars in Central America, advocate for gays to serve openly in the military, and many more efforts that absolutely were AGAINST popular opinion even within his own party.

There is opportunism and opportunity.
