12. Yikes!
If you're taking Actos, it is extremely important to have liver function tests done every 30-60 days (90 days after a year or so). Actos is very similar to Rezulin which killed people through liver failure.

If you're taking Metformin, you need kidney function tests (I have non-diabetic kidney disease/early failure so I can't take it and don't know the testing schedule).

The chormium studies I've seen are for much more regular-sized doses. The jury is out, but it is something to consider.

Nope, don't have BCBS; I'm a Kaiser patient! I do have an exceptional doctor, too. Actualy, I have three exceptional docs who monitor my various bits!
