7. there's actually TWO types of hiccups
depending on the cause or origination, unfortunately the resulting "hiccuping" is the same

if it lasts longer than 24 hours or the "hiccups" frequently reoccur -- then it's time to see a doctor

one type of hiccup responds to "sweet", the other to "sour"

most common responds to "sweet" -- take a teaspoon of sugar add a couple of drops of water to "liquify" it and swallow it -- repeat if there is no change in about 15 minutes

if the above doesn't work -- then you may have the kind that responds to "sour"

teaspoon of lemon juice and water -- about half water and half lemom juice
