giving Hanks a second consecutive oscar, this time for the Gumpster.

Any actor worth their salt can tell you that playing the mentally challenged is the easiest type of role to do. Try it yourself, I'll bet you'll be damned convincing.

who should have won that year is:

Morgan Freeman for Shawshank Redemption. He had to carefully balance a role that could have become so sappy if played even a little bit wrong. He nailed it. It was a hard role- quiet, crucial, exactly the kind of part actors are scared to even attempt.

But no. Hanks had to have two.
