The Beatles, in particular John, thought he was brilliant - he'd made some device that flashed lights constantly, perfect for tripping.

So the Beatles put him in charge of Apple Electronics, and charged him with building them a new studio.

Alex promised a 92 track facility. It never materialized.

Alex promised them a sonic wall that would eliminate the need for baffles around Ringo's drum kit. It never materialized.

In other words, he promised a lot of things. They never materialized.
