Were there ever any nukes in Cuba?

The missiles were there but weren't the actual bombs turned back before they ever got there?

During the 1996 election campaign Florida's Cuban-American "exiles" claimed that Cuba's nuclear reactor was leaking. The Rest of the World knew it was nonsense because they're free to see the incomplete mothballed building with their own eyes. But travel banned Americans swallowed the lie hook line and sinker and it took a visit to Cuba by a bunch of US military brass to declare the obvious. Seven years later and most Americans are still none the wiser about their own neighbors. What a shame.
