76. We so idolize the rich
Edited on Fri Feb-06-04 01:29 PM by redqueen
We want so badly to believe that we could be there, so we defend those who live that kind of life.

I really never gave a thought about Oprah until she hosted Arnold on her show and treated him with kid gloves, despite the fact that he was about to usurp democracy in CA.

I don't know what to think of her charitable giving. I think it's good, but then I think of what else she could be doing, and it just doesn't measure up. Certainly $16K to Democrats doesn't mean jack when she helped to convince gullible Americans that Arnold would make a great governor.

I agree with you Raven, shame on her. Not only for that wasteful party, but for her lack of political responsibility. If she truly cared about the poor and downtrodden, why did she help Arnold? Why has she given so little to Democrats?

On edit: Please nobody follow this with any type of 'sack cloth' strawman. I'm not saying she should give all her money to charity, but the woman has a million-dollar yacht with a helicopter pad. Think about it.
