It's not an odd question at all...

Basically, no, it doesn't hurt. When they cut out the spots, first they inject a local anesthetic into your skin. THIS hurts, but only for a couple of seconds.

After they inject the stuff, your skin is numb. She probably was looking for an icteric keratosis. These are pre-cancers.

The cancers need to be cut off. The liquid nitrogen is briefly very cold, and that's about it.
