R2D2 ould only hack into the low security systmes--waste management, general comms, stuff like that. The Empire had tighter security on the critical systems like propulsion, armament and life support.

Editor's note: I don't believe that tripe I just rolled out any more than you do--or that Han Solo was talking about how efficient a navigator he was when he trotted out the "parsecs" bit.
