1. I think this is Colin Firth's year.
Last year both Bridges and Firth had amazing movies (Bridges with "Crazy Heart" and Firth with "A Single Man"). They gave the Oscar to Bridges even though Firth was absolutely just as worthy. I think this year people are going to remember that Firth just missed out last year and they'll give it to him. Plus even if Bridges did own the part in "True Grit", it was John Wayne's first and I don't think the old-timers who still vote in Hollywood will want to give it away.

Finally, I'm thinking that even though Natalie Portman so deserves the Oscar this year, people are going to remember that Annette Benning has been shut out (at least Hillary Swank isn't nominated for anything - Annette seems to have great movies the year that Hillary Swank does too) and they might just give the award to Ms. Benning this year. I mean, Natalie put alot of work portraying a Ballerina including a year of working out her body to look like a Ballerina and training as one. But Annette was just amazing in "The Kids Are All Right". It was a great movie with an interesting plot line that personally I thought was 1000% better than "The Social Network".

Speaking of which - Mark Ruffalo for Best Supporting Actor. Not only was he good but damn, I never thought of Mark Ruffalo as sexy and yet he really made you want him in that movie!
