1. Netanyahu's freeze is acceptable to most of Israel's center (left and right). Only the extremes at both ends are against it and therefore have a common cause. :) Only a tiny percentage of Jewish Israelis, less than 2%, would accept a building freeze in Jerusalem.

2. The freeze was only intended to trigger negotiations, which Abbas doesn't want for obvious reasons. He rejected Olmert's offer in Sept 2008, which is probably the best offer the PA will get for another 50 years...

3. Abbas will never relinquish RoR for all Palestinians. Too much has been invested in keeping them miserable throughout the Arab world the past 60 years to just give in. Also, 90% of Palestinians insist on full RoR in a peace deal...
