Arafat: Israel Has Right to Live in Peace
Advertisements [?]
RAMALLAH, West Bank Nov. 12 — Yasser Arafat on Wednesday called for an end to three years of violence, saying that Israel has a right to live in peace as his legislature prepared to approve the new Palestinian Cabinet.

Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia also called for an immediate and comprehensive cease-fire with Israel and a return to peace talks based on President Bush's vision for two states.

Qureia issued the call at a parliament session at which he was expected to win approval for his new Cabinet.

"Our fate is to live together on this land for us and our dreams, for our sons and grandsons ... instead of violence and terrorism," Qureia said.
