less "angry" compared to Savage, O'Reill, Hannity (moving down the anger scale).

He tries to come off as the smarter than everyone conservative who is chortling with bemusement at the antics of those crazy liberal wackos.

So for him to be actually angry, or ratcheting up the "anger index" in his performance, shows some desperation and frustration with the way things are going.

They'd like to be able to call the race for shrubbie before election day, but it's clear that even the most shamless RW spinning can't deliver that propaganda point right now.
