99. Great rant. Hillary loves every state until its in her rear-view mirror. The words of her campaign
would come back to haunt her if she gets the nomination. They've disrespected three quarters of the country. She dissed Mississippi before they have even voted.

Obama has a chance to greatly alter the political map. Poblano at dailykos has done an excellent statistical analysis of each of the fifty states showing this. I discussed it here:

On a personal note, I'm from Manhattan and the other day I was discussing colleges with my bright, independent tenth-grade son. I've told him that there are a lot of great colleges within a few hours from New York, but he's the kind of adventurous kid that shouldn't limit himself by region. I said that although most of the big reputation schools are disproportionately in the northeast, there are a lot of very good schools throughout the country, including North Carolina, Wisconsin, Michigan, California, Oregon, and Iowa. He really wants to explore the country and get to know different kinds of people, which might seem a bit odd since he's a public school kid here and his school is like a United Nations of diversity. I spoke to him specifically about Grinnell and it will be on his list of schools to check out. I always remember a line I've heard about the school: "You're not in heaven, you're at Grinnell." Maybe next year he'll want to visit it, which I would be thrilled with.
