The 30,000 write ins were for Obama. That's true (or as far as I'm aware based on what was presented by Mark Brewer). It was the 44% of Uncommitted which was being divided between Obama and Edwards with Obama at 33% or so votes---> These were the assumed numbers since they can't decide who were the Obama voters.

Then they based a few on exit polls as well to determine the number estimate.
