19. I disagree with Barack on this.

Republicans promote their "family values" and don't hesitate to condemn others for their lifestyle. They don't want gay people to have the same rights as everyone else. They don't want schools to teach sex education, which is often a kid's first introduction on how to protect themselves from disease and how to avoid pregnancy.

Palin feels it's perfectly OK to tell others what they must do if they are pregnant. Rape and incest victims must have that baby. It's what God wants. :eyes:

When the Republicans get their sorry asses out of everyone else's bedrooms, then they can ask for privacy concerning their own families. But as long as they're telling you, me, and the rest of America what is correct for us, their families are fair game.

You're wrong on this, Barack. It isn't the fact that an unmarried teenager is pregnant. It's that her Mother feels its OK to tell gay people they don't have the right to see their partner in the hospital, even if they're deathly ill. It's because Palin feels its OK to deny gay partners access to employer-provided health care. And it's because Palin feels its OK to tell another mother and daughter what they must do if the daughter gets raped by her step father.

When you enter public service, you expose yourself and your family to greater public scrutiny. It goes with the territory, and it's part of the job. If we're expected to trust these people with our lives and our destiny, they should be comfortable with the lives they and their family lead.

No double standards.
