Synopsis of Bush's speech tonight [View All]

After about a week of watching the spin for this speech starting with Rove's remarks last week, it's become obvious what Bush is going to be saying. Timing is everything and yesterday, I understood why he chose this day...it's the anniversary of Iraq's "sovereign government". We are also heading into a holiday weekend and that holiday just happens to be the anniversary of OUR independance.

This is going to be a rallying cry symbolically equating our struggle for independance with Iraq. There will also be several "after September 11th's when we were attacked" in there.

So, I'm guessing he'll be trying to close the sale with the "spreading freedom and democracy" similar to his inaugural:

"All Mrkns must support our brave men and women fighting in the heart of the beast to bring freedom and democracy to the people of Iraq. We've been through this struggle before. We know that the pursuit of happiness and freedom for all is hard work. Next week we will celebrate our own anniversary of Independance. As we gather with family and friends to remember our Victory over tyranny and oppression toward freedom and democracy, let us also remember those who died fighting for those values. And know the Iraqi people seek in their hearts those same goals. God Bless America and God bless you."
